In season 5, Nick arrives at the Portland house and finds high-ranking members of Black Claw in a meeting. He interrogates them, learning that the key (which he also assumes is a piece of wood given the events of season 5) is being used to form an army of Grimms. He is interrupted by Ben, Monroe's former ex-partner and successor who stole the key and is trying to sell it. Undeterred, Nick is soon chasing Ben over the Portland house until the poachers catch him. They remove the organs of his victims to save as much face as possible. In the ensuing struggle with Nick, Monroe breaks his jaw. While at the hospital, Nick finds out that Tracy, who was bitten while working for the poachers, is pregnant with his child (whose paternity remains a mystery). With the help of Dr. Bodeen, Monroe is able to treat Tracy, who informs him of her pregnancy. In the last episode of season 5, Monica stars in a movie and her daughter Mila begins acting strangely (she eventually emerges as a wesen).
